Our Mission

The mission of the Leland D. Case Library for Western Historical Studies is to preserve and promote the history of the Black Hills, South Dakota and the American West by collecting documentary evidence, protecting the materials, and providing access to researchers.

The Friends of Case Library support this mission by collecting materials, sponsoring projects, and supporting our newsletter, The Black Hills Historian. The Friends also sponsor two freshman scholarships each year.

Membership

Your membership helps support scholarships, purchase books, sponsor public talks, and publish this newsletter. We also hope the Friends will help get the word out when their friends and family are looking for a place to preserve their individual or organizational papers and photographs, or wish to donate books related to the Black Hills region or western South Dakota.

Friends memberships are just $20, and you may donate more if you wish. If you are unable to print the form below, you may send a check, payable to "BHSU Foundation," along with your name and mailing address.
