An Evening with Theodore Roosevelt

An Evening with Theodore Roosevelt

Joe Wiegand as Theodore Roosevelt

Joe Wiegand is the world’s premiere Theodore Roosevelt reprisor. Over twenty years, Joe’s Theodore Roosevelt has been seen by audiences in all fifty states and internationally, from the White House to Yosemite National Park. Theodore Roosevelt is considered one of America’s greatest presidents, and in Joe Wiegand, the legacy of Theodore Roosevelt has found a worthy vessel. Brilliant scholar and world class showman, Joe’s performances, uniquely crafted for each audience, live up to Alice Roosevelt Longworth’s observation: “Father wanted to be the bride at every wedding, the corpse at every funeral, and the baby at every Christening.”

Join Us!

Join us on Thursday, October 10, 2024, at the Joy Center to see the world's premiere Theodore Roosevelt reprisor, Joe Wiegand, and raise money for history scholarships at Black Hills State University!

The event begins at 5:30 p.m. with a social hour and silent auction bidding. The social hour will feature heavy hors d'oeuvres and drinks catered by Cheyenne Crossing.

At 6:30 p.m., BHSU Professor Emeritus Dr. David Wolff will introduce the program by providing some historical context for President Theodore Roosevelt's connection to the Black Hills, particularly his friendship with Seth Bullock. Joe Wiegand, as Theodore Roosevelt, will then regale us with stories of his life and experiences. It is sure to be a memorable performance!
